The Basic Male Hormone test provides information on blood levels for primary hormones of concern to men. It includes the following screenings:
Complete Blood Count / CBC (includes Differential and Platelets)
Testosterone, Free and Total
This Testosterone test will provide exact levels of Total Testosterone results ranging from 0-9,999. However, any value greater than 9,999 will show >10,000 (over 10,000) as a result instead of the exact number.
Significant deviations from the normal range may require further evaluation by our provider.
This is a walk-in test. Please allow 1-2 business days for receipt of your lab requisition form and instructions via email. Once received, you will take your form to a local Quest Diagnostics location to have the tests completed.
This test is not available to residents of NY, NJ, and RI due to state regulations.

You are not required to fast. Some tests in this panel may exhibit interference when sample is collected from a person who is consuming a supplement with a high dose of biotin (also termed as vitamin B7 or B8, vitamin H or coenzyme R). If using a testosterone cream please be sure you have not rubbed any into the antecubital area of your arm for the last 24 hours as it can give elevated results. Patient should be cautioned to stop biotin consumption at least 72 hours prior to the collection of a sample.
